I moved from Sweden to Edinburgh, 6 years ago when I was taught to throw pots by Paul Tebble from The Meadows Pottery. I am now part of the Bridge Pottery Collective based at Edinburgh Palette, St. Margaret’s House. My approach to ceramics is very experimental. I am a scientist that experiments with colours and shapes, to create objects that are inspired by nature.
This collection is inspired by the shell forms of sea urchins. It consists of 26 different designs which capture the simplicity of the sea urchin’s shell beauty. Each vase is thrown and hand decorated which it gives a distinctive character. To express the natural beauty of sea urchins I used earthenware for in-glaze lustre reduction decoration and black-white & paper clay- stoneware for medium range temperature glazes.
